Anyone else planning on Attending the big Electric Festival at the AMA Field in Mesa on the 26-28th?
We will have 5 new aircraft we will be flying this next weekend:
The Uno Gellato (1.3m Hotliner)(total speed should be between 70-100mph)
A Freedom 3D similar to Ralph's Banshee 3D
My 4m Sailplane (Yes it will finally fly)
A Procter Antic Biplane
A SIG Sundancer 50
Great Planes Super Sportster 20 that is now EP with lots of power...
And my YAK-52 3D (Re balanced for Aerobatic Manuevering(In lieu of just flying))
It was just plane 2 Ugly to try and fly these last weekend with the cloud cover.  |

well,
Scratch the Antic Biplane. don't think it will fly at the festival, but I'm still working on it...
Actually scratch flying on the 20th. It was raining (it's arizona - it NEVER rains in Arizona).. but unfortunately it has for the last 3 weekends it has been cloudy and dark enough to prevent us from flying. and when I saw sunshine yesterday afternoon, by the time I got charged up it was snowing, and really ugly outside.
Oh well, that's what early saturday will be for then.

It went Very well,
Saw you walk by, but you didnt stop...Unless you have a twin out there.
I only recall one aircraft going in. and that was a big P40 from skyshark RC flown by Scott with Extreme Power Systems....
I Didn't fly ($35.00 to register at the fly in) and they were not allowing Vendors to do Demo flights without registering as a pilot.
However, we will be playing catch up this weekend and will test fly 5 of the six planes on saturday.
The Antic has some flying wire problems (finding the wires and turnbuckles locally) so I am putting it on the back burner for a while....
There were about 40 vendors this year vs. the 25 or so last year. There will be probably 60-70 vendors next year....
There were over 350 registered pilots this year, and what a collection of planes!!!!!
se everyone tonight or at the field on saturday...

Jerry,
Any time you want to pull that nasty smelly, greasy gas motor out of Jonathan's Plane and make it Electric. I/we would be happy to show you how it is done. That is unless you like keeping Windex, and the papertowel mfr's in business, or did you just buy stock in them?

Yes the show was very busy for us, and it only slowed down four times when I was there: When we were leaving and when we were setting up.

I've heard some nasty rumors about things being stolen at the event....any take on that? It sure can ruin the EXCELLENT event that it was if it is (was) true!!!
And PS, with a GAS ENGINE we don't have to clean it up after flying, just have to wipe off the drool from the E-guys :):) |

OOPS! Did not notice the date (Rats!@#$) however myself and Jerry are planning on being at the Electric again this year.

Kyle is flying a demo flight for 6 minutes on friday and saturday also.
Kyle has a routine that will knock your socks off electric, nitro or Gas !!!!!
Be There to be Awed by the electrics.
but it is of course ELECTRIC !!!!!
The new ducted fan F-20 will be there (Static) And several other new planes. |
